Re: looking for breeders « Result #3 on Nov 4, 2009, 1:53pm »
It will be probably 8 to 10 months before we have our first litter of GSD's but I am someone who has always loved colors, especially pastel colors or diluted colors. We have a Blue Sable male, a Blue and Red female and have recently acquired a Liver/Tan female.
It is my goal to raise healthy, sound, loved dilute colored GSD's. I realize that they are not looked upon with love and admiration by most GSD folks but I believe I have to be true to myself, what I like and what I am willing to spend my money and time on and that is dilute colored Shepherds who are quality dogs but just with a dilute coat.
I don't have a website yet but that is something I will be working on in the next several weeks. I would love to converse with others who love blues, livers and my absolute dream, black and silvers.

Temperment, health first, then size is nice. I hate skinny heads with beady eyes because many of them are a bit unstable. I had two liver and tan feales years ago that were great. They suck out of the yard and went for a walk, got picked up by animal control and got parvo in jail. That was nearly 26 years ago when parvo wiped out whole kennels so I never got to breed them. I have looked for one every since. I like most colors, I have seen a couple of beatuiful brindles but most tend to be muddy. I haven't seen any grown pandas so I am not entitled to an opinion on them. Lately I tried to rescue a couple of studs from a puppy mill, It is heart breaking because they are so timid and beaten down. I have a long haired white stud who just has no idea what people are for. I don't know what he would have been like had he had a chance to socialize. He is terrified of men of any size, he isn't real happy with my daughters and I but he seems to prefer us. I thought that the rescue would be a good idea but I may try to find him a pup. I am almost 58 and figure I got one ore good dog left in me and I will be alone shortly as my kids leave.

health and temprement first and formost followed by inteligence . shape size ,patern and colour are all a bonus. my first shepherd becky was nothing to look at but she lived to fourteen and no amount of money could have parted me from her, she was my best friend and our relationship was almost telopathic .she was the grandmother of tan-y-felin ,out of our boy zeus.tan went to the turkey earthquake in 1999 , he was the talk of all other rescue teams there. that is the true essence of a shepherd,a true friend, always there for you and seems tuned into your thoughts.

shayes you will have a problem with hair loss if both the solids are blue . blue to blue is not recomended regardless of the dogs paterns . if both dogs are of a solid patern , one is blue and the other isa solid of a different colour but is a blue carrier the pups should not have this hair loss problem though you will probebly get less blue pups in the litter the health of the pups has to come first
