 looking for breeders
« Thread Started on Aug 3, 2007, 6:04pm »

I am having a very hard time finding a reputable dilute gsd breeder. :'( I have been searching online for a while now and everytime I find a breeder I look up any reviews or reports that may have been filed against them and everyone so far I have found a bad remark of. I was hoping that by finding poeple who own dilutes that don't have an alterior motive then I could find people who are happy with the dogs they have purchased and where they have purchased them. If anyone will please reply. I can't wait until the breeders directory gets put up!

Hi, I know it is difficult to find a good "off color" breeder. I've been looking for a liver & I'm so scared to get involved with anyone outside my circle.
I got my blue from Dawn, here's her web-site http://www.geocities.com/angelicshepherds/
When I got Denim, he was 4 1/2 months old & was very sick & unsocialized. However, He was in another home for 2 1/2 weeks before I got him, so I can't say where he got sick. And I think his age had to do with the socialability. He's doing great & has the best personallity. Now I take him to my son's football practices & the kids (& adults) just love him. They climb on him & walk him & he's great with them all!
I wish I could b more help. I really am at a loss myself. I settled on a blk/silver for now. I will find the right liver, at the right time.
Good Luck!
~Tammy~

thanks for giving me the input you had. it just seems that all the advertised dilute breeders are either bashing each other or are claiming they are the only ones... but if they are the only ones breeding any dilutes where did they get theirs. I'm just hoping there are good healthy tempered dilute dogs being bred otherwise i'll just be sad :'( cause they are so beautiful.

:) Hi I'm new to the board what kind of gsd are you looking for, do you want pet quality or working dog. My husband and I would like you to visit our web site. We don't breed just for color we breed for quality. We have a litter of puppies and we have a blue and tan or blue and red. This is the first time we bred these two particular dogs and we got a wonderful surprise with 2 blue puppies. They will soon be 4 weeks old. Our web address is diamondr-farm.com.

It will be probably 8 to 10 months before we have our first litter of GSD's but I am someone who has always loved colors, especially pastel colors or diluted colors. We have a Blue Sable male, a Blue and Red female and have recently acquired a Liver/Tan female.

It is my goal to raise healthy, sound, loved dilute colored GSD's. I realize that they are not looked upon with love and admiration by most GSD folks but I believe I have to be true to myself, what I like and what I am willing to spend my money and time on and that is dilute colored Shepherds who are quality dogs but just with a dilute coat.

I don't have a website yet but that is something I will be working on in the next several weeks. I would love to converse with others who love blues, livers and my absolute dream, black and silvers.
